The most popular offering over the years at other Agama Yoga schools, has been the First Level Intensive Course which offers an excellent introduction to Hatha Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, Kriya Yoga, Tantra Yoga and Laya Yoga. It also includes theory and practice on techniques from Karma Yoga, Raja Yoga, Nidra Yoga, Bhakti Yoga and Jnana Yoga thereby constituting a genuine example of "Integral Yoga" (as defined by Sri Aurobindo). Agama Yoga Mexico are pleased to be able to offer the same course taught in the same style by Agama authorised teachers. Our head teacher & founder of Agama Yoga Mexico is Geoffrey Torkington from the U.S.A.
Explanatory lectures and information are given on various related topics such as: healing through natural methods, diet in Yoga, purification and cleansing techniques, yin/yang balancing, Ayurveda, relaxation, mastery and transmutation of the sexual energy, physiology and psychology in Yoga, the use of music in Yoga, Eastern philosophy, mental concentration and meditation, as well as many others. The senior teacher is available to offer personal guidance and counseling as well as for consultation and questions.
A free, comprehensive set of printed materials that contain information about the techniques of the day and various other esoteric topics accompanies each class. These form an inspiring and profound 150-page Yoga textbook.
Mexico Yoga
Some free events, or events by small donation will be available to participants, such as: Meditation, Dance instruction and lessons (by Maribel), movies, purification technique (shanka prakshalana), Temescal or Shamanistic herbal sauna (set cost to be announced), Spanish lessons, Bhajans/Chanting, Healthful Cooking and presentations in different healing modalities by friends of the school and by our beloved students.
The introductory First Level Intensive Course is especially designed to accommodate newcomers. The course runs in a cycle, so that you may begin and continue at any time (although if you have the choice it is better to commence at the start of the course). It is not necessary to attend the complete course, so simply drop in for a session – the first day is free, but be prepared to be hooked for the long term! We offer approximately five to six hours of instruction daily plus the films and other activities mentioned above. You are welcome to join us for all classes and events at your level, for one day, one week, two weeks, or for the full course. Below is a sample daily program for the course:

Mexico Yoga Meditation Retreats
Our second yoga hall and center in the Mazunte area, Tierra Verde is now open. A large teaching staff migrated to Mexico this year which helped us support our vision.
During the winter of 2009/2010 we held several meditation retreats, all Spanish workshops, a tantra (yoga and sexuality) workshop and level 2 yoga course. The dates for winter 2010/2011 will be published later this year.

Mexico Yoga 3 Month Curriculum
One of the reasons for Agama Yoga's success in Thailand is that it has built up it's teaching curriculum in a way that people can comfortably and affordably spend several months at a time yearly. In Mexico we are now moving into a phase and infrastructure where we can offer a similar chance for people to study for 3 months and gain a strong core in the Agama Yoga system. Unlike in Thailand we have arranged our program so that people will have a chance not only to gain the teachings but to experience the ever important meditation retreat environment without interruption.
Mexico Yoga ACCOMMODATION There are plenty of accommodation options for all budgets, either on our Yoga school premises at El Neem and Tierra Verde, or in the very nearby villages of Mazunte and San Agustinillo. Click here for all the details.
The First Level Course is also taught during the year in Thailand, India and Israel, and occasionally in Greece and in other cities worldwide, so check the main Agama website in Thailand for details.
